NY State Dept. Issues Clean-Smoking Rules For E Cigarette Products

NEW YORK (AP) The New York State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is issuing rules to regulate e-cigarette products.

The department said it is concerned about the health impacts of e-cigarettes and the nicotine they contain.

Health officials said e-cig companies need to prove that their products can reduce nicotine exposure to the public by up to 50 percent.

The rules also include restrictions on how long nicotine can be inhaled.

The Department of Public Health says that in states where e-cigs are sold, they can only be sold in a single-use container.

It’s up to each state to set their own regulations.

The FDA also said that e-liquids containing nicotine and other chemicals that could be inhaling or absorbed into the body can be used to make e-liquid.

The agency said that it has received reports of people becoming intoxicated or even choking after using e-juices containing nicotine.

The federal agency is also looking into the safety of e.liquices containing flavoring chemicals, such as nicotine.
